Pakistan Supper League (PSL) franchise owners were officially announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on 3 December 2015. The CEO of ARY Media Group, Mr. Salman Iqbal, bought the Karachi franchise for 26 million USD. The team was the most expensive franchise in PSL.

Karachi Kings management officially announced the list of 20 players for HBL PSL 8 edition. Imad Wasim is leading the Karachi Kings after Babar Azam joins the Peshawar Zalmi. In this season, Karachi King try to focus on bowling attack including 7 bowlers with 7 all-rounders and 6 Batters.

Karachi King had very bad performs in last PSL season 7 they were knocked out of the group stages and win only one match in their ten matches. Karachi Kings made main changes in their squad, including Captain Babur Azam. Now Imad Wasim selected as Team Captain and also picked Andrew Tye, Imran Tahir, and Australia’s winning hero, Matthew Wade. Last year, Karachi Kings lost PSL due to unbalanced squad with no fast attacking bowler.
